WHO are we?

Greetings ladies and welcome to our blog! Before we can get to the nitty gritty of planning our group get togethers and what we want our group to look like, we must first know WHO we are! This blog question is simple:

WHO ARE YOU?

You may answer as involved or as casually as you like. Tell about your past, your present, your future. Tell about your loves. Tell about your passions. Tell what ever you want to share.

Don't forget to introduce your baby(ies) as well!

Make connections! It all starts here.

SO excited for our group -
Tracy :)

  1. Thanks for setting up this blog, Tracy!

My name is Cindy Winebrenner and I am mom to my amazing boy/girl twins Max and Sofia born 12/15/10. They are my first two. When I am not spending time with my twins, I work as an ER physician at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, and love my job. My husband, Joe and I moved to Minnesota 4 years ago for work and love it, but unfortunately, we do not have any family in the area, which makes raising kids tough! I haven't had too much communication with other young moms and am so excited to meet all of you!

  2. My name is Tracy Riekenberg and like Cindy, I have boy/girl twins born in December of 2010! Hannah and Ben were born 12/5/10. They came 7 weeks early after 9 weeks of bedrest for me. They stayed in the NICU at Children's St Paul for 7 days (Hannah) and 12 days (Ben) and have been growing, loving, and learning at home since. They truly are the loves of my life (along with my husband, of course).

BHB (Before Hannah & Ben), I was a teacher. I loved it at the time, but my place is now home with my babes full time. BHB, I did a lot of arts & crafts, ran and worked out, slept in for long stretches of time. Now I love up on them and clean up after them. Every now and then I like to cook or bake something.

I do like to read magazines. Now, of course, a lot of those magazines are parenting magazines. One theme or tip for being a good mother that is continually mentioned is "find your tribe." I have a great support system in my mothers of multiples group, but I'm yearning for some local support - people down the block or in the 'hood or around town who I can call on a whim and say, "Let's go to the park!" I hope this group can begin to be my tribe! I also hope our children grow up knowing each other (if not being best friends) and can look back when they are older and say, "Oh so-and-so. I've known her since I was a baby." I have one friend in my life I can say that about and I treasure our history. We rarely see each other and even phone/email communication has waned over the years. But I do know Jessica would be there for me in a pinch if I needed her and vice versa. There's just something about life long friends, right?

I can't wait to hear your stories, meet you, get to know your kids, and grow in this motherhood thing together!

  3. Hello!
My name is Kelly Vo. Tracy and I met at the new parent connection meetings at united hospital. Cindy treated me at the er after my baby was born :)
I have one child her name is Avery born 11/7/10. She was born via c section at united. She is a really good sleeper and a wonderful baby! She now crawls and gets into everything. I am really excited to get-together with some other babies and moms for play time.

I like scrapbooking and have dedicated alot of time and money into it in the past, but it is hard now with Avery. I have a full time job working for Delta Airlines here in Minneapolis. I work 5 days a week in the afternoon. Thursday and Friday will be my new days off and would work for a get-together or in the mornings.
I look forward to meeting everyone :)
    Kelly

  4. Hi!
My name is Emily, mom to Linnea who just turned 6 months this week. I'm originally from Duluth, but live in Eagan now.

My husband Rob and I tried for several years to conceive and finally went the fertility route after 2 miscarriages. Our journey to parenthood was quite long and emotional but very worth it in the end!

I used to work as an administrative assistant in a commercial real estate firm but Rob and I both wanted me to stay home after she was born, so here I am! Rob also works from home (self-employed web developer), so we are all three together all the time, plus dog and cat. It's interesting, to say the least.

Before baby, I used to go to the gym and also ran. Don't have time for that anymore! Last year I sang in a community choir and I hope to get back into that when Linnea's a little older. I also used to scrapbook a little bit.

If I have time for anything other than Linnea these days it's usually something quiet at home like reading, writing, watching a movie, or doing crafty things. Oh, and I also have a thing for birds, so I have a very amateur blog devoted to the birds that visit my feeder, haha!

    Can't wait to meet everyone!

  5. Hello everyone!
I'm Kat Meyer. Mom to identical twin girls Kaylee ad Zoe born 7-11-10. My little ladies were 3 months early and my pregnancy, thought short, was traumatic. This last year was filled with 35 days in the NICU, 9 months of isolation for immune compromised babies, and now babies that are 8 times bigger than they were at birth. We continue to work with Early Childhood Special Education to help K&Z catch up to their actual age, but are blessed to be doing so well!

My early career was as an elementary school music teacher and we love music in this house! Most recently I have been working with adults with disabilities and I still work half time from home while Kaylee and Zoe nap or play. It is very busy but rewarding!

My hobbies used to include making custom jewelry and a little knitting, but with twins and work, not much of that going on right now. Now we love to go on stroller walks, sing and play games, cook and eat healthy foods, and play in the sunshine. I have a mommy blog that is about 1/2 cute babies and 1/2 cooking. We have with one little cat and a Papa who works for Target. We live about 6 blocks from Tracy's house and look forward to making new friends!

  6. Hi. My name is Melissa Stevens and I have a 3-year old daughter, Mazzy, and a 4-month old daughter, Gabriella. Needless to say, I am very busy! For the most part, it's a good busy, though, and both of my daugthers are wonderful! It's so much fun seeing them interact with each other. My youngest daughter just lights up when she sees her big sister come in the room and anything she does elicits a laugh.

I recently went back to work full-time and it's been kind of hard. I find it extremely hard trying to balance full-time work with being a mother..especially now that I have 2 that are vying for what little time I have with them.

When I'm not spending time with my girls, I like to hang out with my friends, read, go for walks, go on a date to the movies with my husband or just relax and watch dumb/meaningless TV shows from my couch or bed. :)

We live in Mendota Heights and there is not an evening ECFE class offered for infants this fall, so I was hoping to find something to do with Gabby since we loved ECFE when Mazzy was younger. Obviously I work full-time so evening get togethers work best for me, but even if you guys set up random playdates or schedule outings, please make sure to keep me in the loop as I'd love to attend when I can. As I mentioned, we are pretty busy so I may not be able to amke it on a regular basis, but I look forward to meeting new mothers and babies!

  7. Howdy! My name is Jill Dabrowski. I am mother to b/g twins Coen and Harper born 12/16/10 (looks like December was a good time to be born with this group). My partner and I also have an energetic and very sweet 6 year old son, Spencer. I am originally from Connecticut but have lived in Vermont and Maryland before making our way west to MN for law school 9 years ago. We have no family in the area which at times can be challenging. Most recently I was working on developing software for other attorneys. Immigration law is ideally what I would like to get back to - eventually. In March I left my job to stay home with my babies. I was hesitant about staying home but I actually really enjoy it. The past 8 months have been absolutely incredible. And exhausting. I also find it to be a bit isolating so I am looking forward to meeting some other moms and babies.

In my not so spare time, I am a runner (albeit a slow one) and have been fortunate to be able to get back into the groove of things. I ran a half marathon in August and I am currently training for the St Jude Memphis Marathon in December.

I read whenever I get a chance and maintain a blog for family and friends afar about our comings and goings. Hoping to be able to meet some new people and watch our kids all play and explore together.
